Ad-Hoc Sports Committees


The USA Deaf Sports Federation announces an open call for applications to join ad-hoc committees for the following sports:


  • Badminton

  • Bowling

  • Handball

  • Tennis

  • Table Tennis


Each committee will be responsible for sending athletes and staff to the 2025 Tokyo Deaflympics, and if applicable, the Pan-American Games. To apply, please send a letter of interest, specifying which sport you want to work with to info@usdeafsports.org by Sunday, 31 March 2024 with the subject line: Sports Committee Open Call 2024. Selected applicants will be invited to interview with members of the Board.


Qualifications

  • Display strong administrative, communication, and organizational skills

  • Have prior experience in the sport at high levels

  • Be available to work with USADSF in the months leading up to the Games, for the entire duration of the Games, and post-Games debriefing

Expectations

  • Develop Athlete and Staff Criteria.

  • Recruit Staff following the guidelines established in the above criteria.

  • Regular communication with USADSF on the committee’s activities and its progress.

  • Work closely with Staff to recruit Athletes following the criteria guidelines

  • Support teams, coaches, and athletes with fundraising efforts

  • Work effectively with USADSF and Team USA Committee

  • Undergo a NCSI background screen in accordance with the current Games Background Check Policy & Procedures

  • Be familiar with the World Anti-Doping Code and uphold the principles of clean sport and fair play.

  • Successfully complete the appropriate U.S. Center for SafeSport’s online training module(s) within 45 days of selection; be fully eligible to participate by the U.S. Center for SafeSport

  • If travel is necessary, the applicant shall possess a valid passport that does not expire until at least six months after the conclusion of the Games

  • Provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or obtain an approved exemption waiver as a requirement to be considered for the position
